Bronze sculpture representing a bust of a young boy, with a donkey's cap, by Nicolas Lecornet - Lecorney.
A donkey's cap is a conical headgear with or without two appendages supposed to represent the ears of a donkey.
Shaded brown patina
Oval plaque bearing the title of the sculpture "En Pénitence" on the bust of the child
Signature of the sculptor "LECORNEY" on the right side of the bust
Period XIXth century
Circa 1880-1884

Nicolas Lecornet dit "Lecorney "is a French sculptor born in Gourgeon (Haute-Saone) His work includes allegories, nymphs, figures of children and young girls that he exhibited at the Salon, from 1880 to 1884. To note, "The Kiss of the child" (gilded bronze, 32cm, Susse cast) as well as "Spanish with the guitar" (83 cm)
