Very beautiful motherhood standing with her child on her back.
The style is typical of representations of Osei Bonsu.
Osei Bonsu (1900-1977) was a Ghanaian sculptor of Akan culture and more precisely of Ashanti culture. His talent led him to be the chief sculptor of three Asantehene (absolute monarchs of the Ashanti kingdom): Prempeh I, Osei Tutu Agyeman Prempeh II and Opoku Ware II.
His work is exhibited at the British Museum, the Ghana National Museum and the Fowler Museum at UCLA. Work certainly carried out by a student of Osei Bonsu, Ashanti people, Ghana
