Beautiful pair of paintings on panels by François Alphonse Cassard representing animated genre scenes in a snowy night landscape. François Alphonse Cassard (1787-1842) is a French painter born in Paris, who exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1835, 1837 and 1841. He was much appreciated in his time for his snowy landscapes. Beautiful period gilt wood frames. These paintings date from the years 1830/1840. One of the paintings is signed lower right.
