Jean Perzel was born in Germany on May 2, 1892. At a young age, he learned the trade of glass painter in Munich and, having obtained his diploma, at barely 16 began a tour of Europe on foot to polish his knowledge in various workshops. He was nationalized French in 1919. In 1923, he created the Jean Perzel company which left its mark on the world of lighting and decoration by creating lighting and furniture that would adorn the most prestigious places. Between 1923 and 1939, his notoriety will not stop growing and he will win numerous international competitions allowing him access to extraordinary sites (the Society of Nations in Geneva, the liner Normandie, the Palace of the Maharajah in Indore, the Elysee under Georges Pompidou, ...). The J.Perzel Workshops, which still exist today, are seen awarding the prestigious French label of "Living Heritage Company". The luminaire model presented for sale dates from circa 1925. It is in perfect condition, it has been completely cleaned. The glasses are original as well as the vellum. Very good quality.
