Pierre Dequene (1905-1954). Trained at the Academy of Mons with Duriau, Catie and Motte from 1921, he also trained with M.Gilles. Predilection for landscapes, figures, nudes, still life,... Influenced by cubism at the beginning, he later adopted a vigorous and slightly purified style, most of his paintings were committed to the workers' struggle. Most of his paintings were committed to the workers' struggle, glorifying the people and not the power.
