Tété Azankpo was born in Lomé, Togo, on November 11, 1968 and exhibited his work in 1997. Azankpo was noticed in France, Germany and the Netherlands. He is a plastic surgeon, convinced that chance is something that does not exist. He sews aesthetically with sturdy wire, the tears that this world carries and that it symbolizes in original concepts. In the urgent need to banish inequality and the urgency to make room for reunification, he believes that unity is a whole that must be preserved. He grants immortality to used materials such as enamelled basins, metals, wood… These materials are recruited in the operating theater of the artist-surgeon whose works all hide a truth. He is an artist aware of his time, confident and motivated to make his art immediately operational to open up avenues for reflection.
