Object description :

"Portrait Of A Young Aristocrat In Breastplate. Nicolas Fouché (troyes, 1653 – Paris, 1733)"
Portrait of a young aristocrat in breastplate. 17th century French school Oil on canvas In its period frame with a so-called "Berain" pattern in carved and gilded wood. Total dimensions: 92 x 80 cm. The frame: 72 x 60 cm Rare portrait of a young aristocrat dressed in a gray velvet jacket with sleeves lined with blue velvet. He wears a breastplate with gold rivets under a pink cloth cape and a fleur-de-lis belt at his waist. He wears French style hair, his long hairstyle in the royal style known as “leonine” will be very fashionable under Louis XIV, from 1680 and until the years 1715. He wears a white jabot around his neck. The rarity of this portrait is due to the beauty and youthfulness of the character (very rare in portraits of this period) Our research was oriented towards a painter from the south-east of France with a certain Italian influence. Good state of conservation. Sold with invoice & certificate of expertise
