About ... André Baud (1903-1986)
After studying at the School of Fine Arts in Bourges and the School of Applied Arts at the industry in Paris, in 1925 he won a prize at the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts. In 1942, he moved with his wife to Vallauris and produced culinary and utility pottery while creating more decorative pieces. He participated in the "golden age of Vallauris" with Suzanne and Georges Ramié, Robert Picault, Roger Capron, Jean Derval ... André Baud was interested in space and astronomy and some of his creations are characteristics of the "space age" period. In 1969, he closed his pottery in Vallauris and moved to Charente.
