"Fishing boats at sunset"
Oil on canvas,
Signed lower right,
Beautiful finely made work of the Marseille painter David Dellepiane which represents fishermen in their boats at sunset, certainly in Marseille.
The work of great realism was produced between 1890 and 1905 by the artist.
This unpublished work of the artist is rare because the artist usually creates skies less colored and where the sun is often absent.
Coming from an Italian family of craftsmen who settled around 1875 in Marseille. David DELLEPIANE follows courses at the School of Fine Arts in Marseille where his teacher is the painter Marius GUINDON, himself a pupil of LOUBON and Johanny RAVE.
The artist is known and recognized for his talent as a painter, poster artist and illustrator.
Note: Two old restorations (old tears) visible on the back of the canvas are to be noted and having a minimal impact on the front of the work.
Dimensions: 55 x 33 cm without frame and 69 x 57 cm with its original carved and gilded gilded wood frame (accident and restorations to the frame). Fragile period frame
