BRUNEL-ROQUE Léon Born in 1822 in Paris

Nineteenth century.
French Drawing teacher at Sainte-barbe, he was attached to the Sèvres factory as a figure painter and professor of economic painting at the free Imperial School for young girls.

He gave to the Salon, from 1844 a large number of portraits, religious canvases and genre paintings We also owe to this artist the painting of the high altar of the Sainte-Cécile chapel in the Saint Eeustache Church in Paris, a Christ on the cross for one of the rooms of the Palais de Justice.

In 1856 Napoleon III gave Prince Albert a large porcelain bisque vase, on which Brunel-Roque had painted the figures of the various powers of the world bringing the products of their industry to the Universal Exhibition in London in 1855.
