Superb and rare Empire style gilt and chiseled bronze round photo frame. It is a very thick and heavy bronze with a very high quality carving, large decoration aleternant stars and stripes, then a frieze of chiseled roses and finally towards the center a frieze of palmettes. Unsigned but high quality frame. Original glass and bottom. Inside an old photo. Period late nineteenth, early twentieth.
