"Gold Box Eighth Era Paris Hallmark"
Superb and rare Louis XVI and 18th century gold box. Oval in shape, it is decorated around its perimeter with guillochages separated by badges decorated with garlands and flowers, in the lower part, a garland of laurels. The underside is also decorated with guillochages and shows slight wear. The cover is adorned around its perimeter with an interlacing garland, and on top of a ribbon medallion with a quiver in the center and floral motifs all set against a guilloche background. This box is stamped in 3 places, under the lid, inside on the field and at the bottom with the XVIIIth Paris hallmarks, and 2 others difficult to identify. High quality box with a very fine chisel in excellent condition for a total weight of 99 grams.
