Children With Dog And Cat flag

Object description :

"Children With Dog And Cat"
Pair of regulators by Léon Pilet, medalist sculptor born in Paris in 1840 and died in Paris in 1916.

This is a rare and charming pair of two children whose snack is coveted by their pets: the little boy pushes his toast away from the dog's lips while the cat covets the contents of the girl's bowl.

Léon Pilet exhibited at the Salon from 1861 to 1914, and produced many highly realistic statuettes on themes of musicians, dancers, oriental figures and children. Bronze editions, quite limited it seems, were taken from his works. Some of his works are exhibited at the Louvre Museum as well as at the Museum of Fine Arts in Reims.
