Henri Duvieux - Venice In Sunset - Large Oil On Canvas C.1890

Pupil of Prosper MARILHAT, Henri DUVIEUX started at the Salon in 1880 and specialized in the views of Venice and Constantinople, for which he is actively sought after.

The particularity of this work is the use of pink tints which give it a certain softness and charm (generally blue and yellow tones dominate in Duvieux oils).

Oil on canvas 40 x 65 cms (with new gilden frame, approximately 50 x 75 cms)
Signed lower left
Very good general condition, on its original canvas, to report some light inpainting, traces of friction from an old frame on the edge of the canvas and a seed (small nail) in each corner
The painting has just been completely cleaned (varnish removal), which has regained its pretty colors
