"Pair Of Neoclassical Carved And Gilded Wood Chairs, Italy, Late 18th Century"
Pair of neoclassical carved and gilded wood chairs, Italy, late 18th century

The fine pair of neoclassical chairs was made in Italy around the end of the eighteenth century. The wooden structure is finely carved and has a particularly beautiful gilding.
The carvings decorate the chairs with floral and vegetable motifs characteristic of the neoclassical era.The four legs, with an inverted cone trunk, are also carved with acanthus leaves, tapered and grooved. The seat and back are lined with velvet.
The structure of these chairs is particularly elegant and graceful thanks to the size of the backrest that is slightly reduced and rounded. They are chairs suitable to be inserted on the sides of a console or a chest of drawers, but also to be used alongside desks or sofas. They can be exhibited in pairs or individually in multiple environments and are appropriate alongside antique and modern furnishings.
