Rare Danish porcelain figurine # 415
Royal Copenhagen. Denmark.
The two monkeys hugging in an almost human attitude.
Sculptor: Christian Thomson (1860–1921). The author of this model started working at the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Factory in 1898.
Hand painted under varnish, painter's mark, number 149 is on the base next to the factory mark, painted in cobalt blue.
Statuine with particularly successful pictorial decoration: the hands, eyes and face are very expressive.
Prototype creation date: 1902.
Production date: 1902-1923 (ROYAL COPENHAGEN circular mark without Danish word)
