Félix Lecomte, 1737 - 1817, is a French sculptor, winner of the Prix de Rome for sculpture in 1758 - Student of Falconet and L Vassé, Félix Lecomte won the first sculpture prize in 1758 and entered the Royal School of Protected Students. A resident of the Villa Medici in Rome from 1761 to 1768, he was approved by the Academy on his return to Paris. He himself became an academician in 1771 with his Oedipus and Phorbas marble reception piece (Paris, Musée du Louvre) 1 - Works by Félix Lecomte in the American collections, at the Louvre / Petit Trianon / Institut de France as well as in numerous French museums - The original of this marble bust, 1783 is in Versailles -
Good condition, except for a slight crack restaured in the base which does not present any danger for the stability of the whole -
