The artist offers us here an endearing slice of the life of this family; our attention goes immediately to the center of the work on this pretty young woman whose blouse and white headdress illuminate, we discover her slightly round face, full of sweetness.
Through the bars of a bird cage, she is busy feeding a colorful colombid.
Our gaze then passes over the white headdress adorned with a red ribbon of the young girl sitting on the porch of the house, the artist still solicits our attention without forgetting to touch us with this child who seems to be playing well with her cat. In the semi-darkness we see a nurse's chair, a two-body sideboard, kitchen utensils; and to add to the rural character and the animation of the scene, in the foreground two hens are busy pecking.
