Object description :

"Eugène Begarat "
Beautiful representation by Eugène Begarat, oil on canvas signed lower right, in a carved wooden frame Montparnasse with keys and under marie-louise. Dimensions of the canvas 46x38 cm Total dimensions, with frame 64.5x57 cm. Eugène BEGARAT was born in 1943 in Nice. In 1960, he entered the School of Decorative Arts in Nice; in 1964 at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. First stays in Venice and Murano. He comes to Brittany and studies the painters of the School of Pont-Aven, as well as the Nabis such as Félix Valoton and Maurice Denis, who will influence his work. During this period he travels a lot in Italy, Morocco, Tunisia, Spain. In 1993 he settled permanently in Provence. Post-impressionist painter in the lineage of Seurat and Signac, he studied a lot the “divisionist” technique, a real treat for the eye. The warming of his palette evokes Fauvism. His paintings are not frozen, on the contrary, the characters, the trees, the sea are in motion. This mobility results from the opposition two by two of the primary colors: red-blue-yellow and the binary colors: green-orange-purple. Eugène Bégarat has an international reputation; he exhibits with regular success both in France and abroad (Switzerland, United States, Italy, Lebanon, United Kingdom etc ...)
