"Fireplace Plate With Arms By Willem Tayen (84 X 94 Cm)"
Fireback dating from the second half of the 16th century or the very beginning of the 17th century, with the arms of Willem Tayen (Guillaume Taijen), alias Ordinge, alderman of the imperial city of Saint-Trond, in the province of Limburg (present-day Belgium ), died October 14, 1609. Son of N. Tayen and N. Staple. He had married Catherine Bailge, who died on November 5, 1576. They had a daughter, Catherina Tayen, who died in 1622. Last photo, engraving of a tumular stone which was here in front of the Church of St Gandulphe, in St Trond . Blazon: Argent a bend mouth, accompanied by two geese or sand ducks, beaked and membered Or, one in chief and another in base. There is a tiny crack and a foundry defect (breakthrough) in the lower part. Its weight is 135 kg.
