"Charles X Dance Card In Mother Of Pearl And Bronze. Circa 1815-1830. "
Charles X dance card in mother of pearl and ormolu, embellished with flowers and flowery interlacing.It is engraved with delicate branches and an enamel flower, a typical motif of Palais-Royal objects. These mother-of-pearl plates are set in a gilded bronze frame decorated with floral motifs, stylized foliage and flowers angles.A pencil allows to close this dance card. The mother-of-pearl dance card are characteristic objects of the early 19th century. It allowed the dancer to remember the order of the dances on the program of the evening and the names of their partners.
