"Harbor View - Raymond Thibésart"
Magnificent painting by Raymond Thibésart, 1950. From a Breton collection. The paint is slightly cracked. Son of a wealthy family, Raymond Thibésart was born in Bar-sur-Aube on May 2, 1874. Shortly after, his parents settled in Enghien, in the near suburbs of Paris. This is where the Thibésarts meet a Venezuelan family who has just arrived in France, the Boggio. Very gifted for drawing, Thibésart admired Emile Boggio, 17 years his senior, who gave him his first lessons when he was eleven. Master Emile Boggio, a very talented Venezuelan impressionist painter, became Raymond Thibésart's first teacher. Very sensitive and talented painter, he was very generous with all those who surrounded him. Having no financial problem, it is possible to say that painting was his life. Surrounded by little publicity, he created an important work of great artistic quality.
