Henry Edridge A.R.A. (1768-1821) "Portrait of Carew St. John-Mildmay (1800-1878) and his sister Laetitia" Drawing in wash, gouache and watercolor over pencil sketch, signed and dated lower left " H. Edridge 1810 "Annotated on the back of the frame and on the back of the mounting of the drawing (see detailed photos) Dimensions with gilt wood frame from the Louis XVI period: H.51cm x L.43cm - Beautiful drawing representing a double portrait of children of Sir St. John-Mildmay, aged 10 and 8 respectively, accompanied by their little dog, by Henry Edridge, an English artist well known for his portraits of the English aristocracy of the 1800s. His drawings are represented in most english private and public collections and American museums.
Carew St John-Mildmay was born at Dogmersfield Park, a Georgian House grade 1, situated in Hamphire, now a luxuous "Four Season" hotel.
