Object description :

"Neapolitan Santon - Late 18th Century"

Santon: head and hands in terracotta and body in plaster. Santon resting on a terracotta plinth also encased in a gilded wooden plinth. Santon representing a soldier dressed in a tricorn hat and a red frock coat. He is holding a bunch of terracotta grapes and a wooden mug in the other hand. Period late eighteenth, early nineteenth.
