Object description :

"18th Century Louis XVI Beauvais Tapestry."
18th century tapestry from the Louis XVI period from the Beauvais factory after François Boucher and cartoons by Jean Joseph Dumont de Tulle representing a tapestry in the name of Chinese dance which was originally three times larger.
This part could be called the "bird seller".
On this tapestry, we can observe several kinds of characters, in the center a European with her governess buys a bird from an oriental, at the bottom left a Chinese takes the birds out of a cage, the person holding the parasol seems also being a Chinese serving the comfort of customers and the child playing next to his busy mother.
The colors remained almost fully consistent at the time with some general attenuation.
