Achille Fouquier (1817-1895?) 13 “Turc smoking the pipe” pencil drawing 21 X 21 cm approximately on a larger sheet, signed with the stamp of the signature circa 1853, framed by a marie-louise stained 50 X 35 cm .
This drawing shows us figures dressed in the oriental style resting under the trees on the banks of a river where boats sailed by rowers, annotated "fresh water from Europe" relegated to the Marie-Louise "Near Constantinople »An indefatigable traveler, Achille Fouquier brought back sketches, anecdotes and observations from his many travels, collected in several books that were published.
