Pair of gilt bronze candlestick Signed H Picard Louis XVI style Napoleon III period Adorned with flowers, acanthus leaves and pearl garland Fluted barrel decorated with 3 lion heads connected by a garland In the center a fire pot from which The three sconces leave the fluted pedestal Ø 15 cm In very good condition Weight 6.5 kg per pair Henri Picard (1840-1890) Parisian bronzier According to the National Archives, the bronzier Henri Picard, founder and gilder, is established at 6 , rue Jarente from 1831 to 1839 before moving to 10 rue de la Perle until 1864. He provided decorative objects for Napoleon III's small apartments at the Louvre. He was known for the quality of his production of table pieces and fireplace fittings, in particular the combination of gilt bronze and silver bronze. A large pair of Picard twelve-light candelabra is in the Louvre Museum.
