Very beautiful representation, energetic and virulent, of a very animated bullfighting scene exalting all the robustness, the ardor and the bravery of the bull in the face of dismantled picadors, and an impotent matador.
Vivid and expressive oil on canvas in vivid colors showing a scene full of life, struggle and death. In good condition signed lower left '' A. Gimeno ''.
Andres GIMENO: Spanish, born in La Granja (Segovia) in 1879, lived rue Blanche in Paris and exhibited in particular at the 4th Salon d'Automne of the Grand Palais in Paris in 1906.
Note: sometimes attributed to Francesc Gimeno i Arasa (February 4, 1858, Tortosa - November 22, 1927, Barcelona) who was a Catalan painter and graphic designer; best known for its landscapes, city scenes and self-portraits.
