A thermo-luminescence test confirms the antiquity of the work.
Full terracotta with some restorations.

Zoomorphic statue from the Inner Niger Delta, north of Djenne, named Tenenkou after the place of discovery. Only a few terracotta objects from this region are known.

This mysterious quadruped with a cylindrical body, probably a horse, has thick legs, an elongated muzzle with a raised nose and half-open mouth, and a small head with erect ears and a necklace.
