"18th Century, Italian Louis XV Violet Wood Center Table "
18th Century, Italian Louis XV Violet Wood  Center Table
This elegant and refined center table - cabinet was made in Turin around the middle of the eighteenth century. Characteristic of the high Piedmontese cabinet making, for this piece of furniture, a veneer was chosen with the precious violet wood, applied on the piece of furniture with a sophisticated game of mirrors and patterns of the wood grain. The furniture has a shaped and wavy top, and the wooden essence creates a chromatic game called "a occhio di pernice" (partridge eye). On the front it consists of two drawers and a compartment protected by two doors. The opening system of the doors is sliding, very rare and difficult to achieve. The mouthpieces of the locks are in chiselled bronze and gold, as well as the tips of the four legs that are arched and graceful, typical of the Baroque.
This cabinet is perfect for any room and can also be exposed in the center of a room thanks to its finish on all four sides. It is also suitable alongside modern and antique furniture.
