"Cassone In Noce"Old "chest" in solid walnut with hermetic figures carved on the side uprights. The quality of the walnut used is extraordinary, in fact it is a single-axis board. The wild feet are the originals, while one of the two rear feet has been changed. The furniture was restored years ago, but it retains a good patina because it has not been damaged by abrasive papers; however, it needs restoration aimed primarily at straightening the top. As you can see in the photo, the top was attached to the backrest by means of eyelets which, after breaking, were then replaced in operation by hinges from the 18th century: the trace of the eyelets is an important testimony of the originality of the ancient artifact. Lombard - Venetian region, second half of the 16th century. It is 165cm long, 56cm deep and 56cm high. The piece of furniture is currently being restored and will be presented shortly once the work is completed. The price displayed takes into account restoration work, including anti-worm treatment, restoration of the structure, cleaning and re-polishing by hand.
