Landscape and stage director Giuseppe Rossi was born in Perugia in 1820 and died in the same city in 1899. A painter of the Italian school, he was a pupil of S. Valeri and Bassi. He participated in the decoration of the town hall of Perugia, from which he painted six views of old Perugia.
Wooden stick added at the bottom of the canvas to fit the frame (see photos).
