Louis Candide Boulanger, (1806 -1867) is a French romantic painter, engraver, lithographer and illustrator logist of the Prix de Rome (3rd place) to whom we owe several works preserved in national museums including the portrait of Balzac at the Museum of Fine Arts in Tours and several portraits of Victor Hugo's family at the Victor Hugo museum on the Place des Vosges in Paris.
