Object description :

"Marie Madeleine Vanite Enamel Plate B. Nouailher Limoges Epoque XVIII "
Polychrome painted enamelled copper curved plaque on a black background with gold flange, representing a vanity in an oval medallion confined with raised foliage. Marie Madeleine placing her hand on a skull, a naturally surprising gesture. She surrenders to her thoughts. Mary Magdalene has become familiar with death and has accepted the fate that is inevitably reserved for us. Fixing hole above and below. This plaque is titled below Sainte Magdeleine and bears on the back the signature of B. Nouailher in Limoges for Jean Baptiste Nouailher. Presence of two micro chips on the left rim, visible in the photos.
Period Second half of the XVIIIth Century.
