This round-shaped dish is provided with the rich decoration called Imari. Produced in the kilns of Arita in Japan, these porcelains, famous throughout the world, were imported by boat and loaded from the Port of Imari, hence their name. At the end of the 17th century a polychrome "Imari" rich in decoration appears, called Imari Kinrandé or Imari of brocade, it is characterized by the trio of green, red and gold with a preponderance of red or green, blue underglaze. being systematic. He favors loaded decorations, delimited in symmetrical zones, leaving little free surface and constituting the antithesis of the Kakiemon type whose decoration is refined. This deep dish is lightly gadrooned, the decor has the characteristics of the kind called brocade. In the center is a reserve decorated with a flowery bouquet arranged in a vase, on both sides a stylized landscape where we find the three friends of the scholar, the bamboo which symbolizes the length of human life. , the prunus which symbolizes the resurrection of nature after winter and the pine which embodies eternity and the link between the different generations, They are also called the three friends of winter and embody the virtues of perseverance, of integrity and modesty, highly respected in Confucianism, they represent the primordial qualities of the literate man. Above and below is the mythical bird Hôô also called phoenix, with outstretched wings, it is the messenger of peace and good omens.
