Object description :

"Rare Eight-foot Desk Called "mazarin" - Circa 1680 - In The Style Of The Hache ""
Elegant and rare eight-foot desk, known as “Mazarin”, in the style of the AX
Very beautiful typical 17th century marquetry made up of several types of wood: walnut, walnut burl, burl walnut, hornbeam, maple and plum, decorated with arabesques and foliage scrolls on the top, front and sides.
The front opens with 7 curved drawers and a window.
All the drawers have their 17th century locks, which work perfectly.
A key opens the 3 upper drawers. A 2nd key opens the 4 other drawers and the 3rd key opens the counter door (rear lock).
This desk is based on a period base in black lacquered solid walnut, composed of eight sheath legs, joined four by four by a spacer.
The back shows a castle inventory number, but we have no information to locate it.
Built in fir
At the end of the 17th century, around 1680, this office can be compared to the production of Hache
It is entirely from the 17th century, except for the lock of the counter

appraisal and restoration report will be communicated to the buyer

The eight-legged desk is one of the jewels of 17th century furniture. It is incorrectly called "Mazarin" because it does not appear until around 1670, long after the cardinal's death in 1661.
