Active mainly in Rome and Naples, Giacinto BRANDI, trained in Rome at the study of Alessandro Algardi, joined the school of Giovanni SemantiI, then worked under the direction of Giovanni Lanfranco from 1647 onwards. He became friends with Mattia Preti, with whom he often collaborated. He was admitted to the Accademia di San Luca in 1651.
