Of Ukrainian origin, D.O. Widhopff arrived in Paris in his youth, where he became known as a caricaturist and illustrator .
He worked at the Courrier Français in 1908 and then exhibited at the Salons Parisiens d'Automne, the Indépendants and the Tuileries.
Widhopff is a painter who has tackled all subjects, with great talent and a strong personality, both in Easel Painting and in Decoration or Tapestry.
The Belle Epoque scene we are presenting belongs to Widhopff's first style, where he was appreciated in Montmartre as an Illustrator. The multiple points of view allow his natural exuberance to be fully expressed. The scene is alive and full of verve.
