Old Kashmir Rug, Silk On Silk, 108 Cm X 160 Cm, Mid 20th Century flag

Object description :

"Old Kashmir Rug, Silk On Silk, 108 Cm X 160 Cm, Mid 20th Century"
This splendid mid-20th century rug is originally from Kashmir, India.
It is silk on silk, for a density of 480,000 knots per M2 and gauge, 108 cm wide by 160 cm long ...
This carpet is in very good condition despite its years and its colors are very fresh, the red deep has kept its beautiful shine.
The quality of these beautiful old silks no longer needs to be demonstrated.
One can only admire the work and the profusion of flowers on this medallion, the spandrels and the borders.
The region of Srinagar is where we produce and where we produced these wonders, silks on silk or silk on cotton.
India and especially Kashmir is not one of the major wool producing countries, hence the little use of this material.
This carpet has been professionally cleaned and environmentally friendly.
