Very Large Kilim Anatolia 2nd Half Of The 19th S flag

Object description :

"Very Large Kilim Anatolia 2nd Half Of The 19th S"
Superb and very large Anatolian kilim (southern Turkey) from 2nd half of the 19th century

Sizes 395cm * 175cm

Please check my other listings for other nice kilms from the same period and from the same provenance.

These large, knotted and very resistant rugs always display superb colors and geometric patterns, which go well with contemporary furniture as well as Haute Epoque furniture.

Made by tribes of nomads whose looms were narrow to be transported, they are always made in 2 parts then tied together when they are used as rugs. They can also be used to isolate homes or as doors, and in this case, they are not or not fully joined together.

Vegetable or mineral colors here very well preserved (often fragile, especially in hot water!)
