Green Horn Engagement Cartel flag

Object description :

"Green Horn Engagement Cartel"
Alcove cartel in green horn veneer, gilded bronzes and brass inlays. Violin-shaped, this bedside cartel presents gilded bronzes chiseled with foliage of flowers and natural patterns. A few brass floral inlays recall this theme. At amortization a dove, symbol of the engagement, surmounts a quiver and its arrows. Below and in a medallion is a female profile. At the top, Cupid rushes towards the lovers. The dial with midnight blue Roman and Arabic numerals. The 19th century mechanism in working order strikes the hours and half-hours. Has its system formerly triggered by a cord that allowed the hours to strike at night. Louis XV period, 18th century.
