Old Dagestan Carpet, Caucasus, 84 Cm X 154 Cm, 19th Century

Rectangular Dagestan rug measuring 84 cm wide by 154 cm long.
Rectangular in shape decorated with polychrome florets in oblique bands, 5 cm wide.
This beautiful tais has in its upper part a niche psée in a square with a blue field dotted with stylized flowers.
Dagestan is a fairly rare old carpet, it can be recognized by its typical decoration of oblique bands accompanied by borders borrowing Caucasian motifs and especially the Kufic motif.
The whole is treated in a very geometric way with great finesse of execution and nuances found in both the Dagestan type and the Gandja type, from the small town of Derbent.
Wear see photo, but a good age.
This rug has been professionally cleaned and environmentally friendly.
