" Clock Era Empire In Bronze Mercury Gilt"
Elegant Empire period clock in patinated bronze and gilded mercury bronze. Uncommon model of very beautiful manufacture. Subject of a young woman seated near a dove. holding a flower. draped in the antique style, very fine face of great finesse with lots of details. At his feet a pair of shoes, one of which is broken in two.

Central part is decorated on each side with two fountains with panther heads. Domed dial in white enamel underlined by an outline of water leaves. the whole protected by a curved glass. Beautiful ornamentation in the form of a half-crown chiseled with ivy leaves and a mask in high relief of a cherub with butterfly wings.

The whole rests on four goat feet with palmettes.

Original mechanism without modification, wire suspension, hour and half hour strike on old bell.

A rare model, very finely chiseled whose subject matter with great finesse and elegance, well-proportioned set very pleasant to watch.

Perfect authenticity and a very good state of conservation, slight wear of the gilding on the smooth parts.
