Jean-Adrien MERCIER (1899-1995), poster artist and illustrator from Angevin, was a student at the School of Decorative Arts in Paris. Quickly he produced posters for cinema and advertising (including Cointreau). In 1927 he married Yvonne Deflandre, nicknamed Zizi, who was his model and his muse in many works. Jean-Adrien Mercier lovingly represents his young wife asleep and naked in Cannes.
