Pair Of Napoleon III Chairs, 19th Century flag

Object description :

"Pair Of Napoleon III Chairs, 19th Century"

These original chairs are a creation of the reign of Napoleon III who likes to borrow patterns from past centuries. Here, the string of decorative balls forming the uprights, feet and spacers is a loan from the Louis XIII style. This second half of the 19th century, certainly criticizing this old style for being too stocky, preferred the shape of the chairs rather than that of the armchairs. A timely choice which gives this rare model a lightness and an originality that the Louis XIII did not have.

In perfect condition, these perfectly upholstered chairs can nevertheless receive a more modern fabric that will not fail to highlight the modernity of their lines.
