The upper face of the lid forming a brass lunar dial/volvelle graduated twice 12 hours with index. The ivory face is engraved with a stylized decoration and two circles (schedule 2 x 12 hours and days of the moon from 1 to 29). The inside of the lid forms a vertical sundial with gnomon (graduations of I-VI / VI- XII).
The base forming horizontal sundial with a small compass in the center indicating the 4 directions of the cardinal points with magnetic declination at approximately 5 degrees East. The sundial is graduated 4/12/8. Blued steel needle with brass pivot.
The underside not engraved. Two brass hooks.
Trace of signature of Conrad II Karner on the back.
