"Cabinet. Shibayama. Japan. 1910 Circa"
Cabinet. Shibayama decoration. Japan. Meiji era. Black lacquered wood and mother-of-pearl and bone inlays.
It is formed by the base plus the upper part with many drawers and doors.
The interior is decorated with aventurine lacquer, amber brown, with golden streaks. An owl is painted on the back. At the top-heron. A whole garden full of butterflies, peacocks, chrysanthemums, bamboos and sakura twigs.

The inlay is of the finest quality.
The great craftsmanship is reflected in the variety of techniques used: matt and shiny lacquers, inlays, chiseling of metal parts, relief gilding.
The state of preservation is generally very good, with the exception of small defects in the upper part.
