Embroidery, Saint Nicolas, Ca 1830.

Embroidery on silk representing Saint Nicholas in bishop costume. The salting tub contains the three little children he saved. The faces and hands are very finely painted in gouache and the whole is of very good quality and in very good condition. We can see some small gaps in the embroidery stitches. The frieze which surrounds the whole is in silver thread and is punctuated with small stones set with metal (silver)? Period 1830, posterior frame.
