SERNEELS, Antoine (1909-?) "Portrait of Félix Vivier" Oils on canvas signed lower right. Dimensions: 42 cm x 36 cm Félix Vivier (1879 - 1954). He studies music theory and clarinet. In 1920, he left for America and solo clarinetist in the symphony orchestras of Minneapolis, Philadelphia and New York. In Chicago, he occupies the first desk under the direction of master Toscanini. He was part of the orchestra which accompanied Jeannette Mac Donald and Maurice Chevalier in the film “Parade d'amore”. In Cleveland, Félix Vivier creates a Belgian music school. Included is a photo of "The Goldman Band" City Hall, New York, June 13, 1922. Copy of the dedication of F. Vivier to his parents. Stains and traces of moisture. (+/- 28 cm x 50 cm)
