Object description :

"French Dental Pelican Teardrop 17th Or 18th Century, Wrought Iron, Marked"
An object that will not leave you indifferent, this Pelican in forged steel, with non-adjustable hooks rotating on a central axis, the two arms are curved to allow a better vision of the operation, and inverted, to be able to perform the extraction on the left or to the right of the jaw, with two notched convex half-wheels, one of which bears the cutler's mark.
Very effective instrument, because very powerful and fast, but which also did a lot of damage ...
There is good documentation at Aspad, (association for the safeguard of dental heritage), or other dental museums, which have organized conferences and exhibitions on these famous pelicans.
